When respected publications publish lists (ie. People’s “most beautiful” list, anything from Time, Forbes’s business selections), readers view the compiled information as a guide to their individual viewpoints. When Website Magazine-an IT publication with the largest Web professional audience-was asked by to gather the ”Top 50 Analytics Solutions For Digital Media Pros” they investigated. The Geeks section of Broadway World covers the list in its article, “Website Magazine Reveals The Top 50 Analytics Solutions.”
Analytics is a growing factor in companies, but arguably very new. No one knows where to start and different companies need individually tailored solutions.
‘Since analytics, and how companies seek them, consider them and leverage them, are different for every enterprise, the August 2013 Top 50 list was broken into four categories: big data, visual data, mobile data and Web data,’ said Website Magazine Founding Editor-In-Chief Peter Prestipino. ‘While most readers will turn exclusively to analytics solutions for website data, other, more mobile-focused readers, will find one of the emerging mobile data analytics solutions, also addressed in this list, to be instrumental in tracking that channels ROI.’
Companies were judged based on the quality of their solutions and all names were reviewed, from big names to emerging talents such as LucidWorks. LucidWorks is known as the commercial end of Apache Lucene/Solr, the open source search solution. Its applications are custom fit for the Cloud, enterprise, and, of course, the highly desirable Big Data. It is ranked in the top ten for the Big Data group.
